Louize Christensen
An avid sailor for 25 years, Louize's passion for sailing began in Cape Cod, Montreal (in French!), and Upstate New York, sailing the cold northern waters, occasionally having to knock the icicles off the boat! Exotic locales, crystalline turquoise waters, smooth white sand beaches, and balmy tradewinds now surround her sailing ventures. Louize has been racing auxiliaries at local regattas for numerous years; was the Cruising Fleet Director of a local sailing club (where the club's annual "Cruiser of the Year" Award was formally named after her); and is the owner of a racer/cruiser sailboat recently voted "Favorite Overall Cruiser" in a local "2004 Tour of Boats". Presently working towards her Captain's License, Louize is an ASA Certified Sailing Instructor (BKB level), has studied Seamanship/Sail, Marine Electronics, Piloting, and Advanced Piloting (through the United States and Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons) and attended ProCaptain's seminars. She is renowned for her cruising cuisine, best described as "The Painted Table" gourmet. Her training as a graphic designer lends itself to beautifully prepared, carved and presented fare. Even when the boat is heeling, you will be amazed at what can come out of the galley! Fluent in French, a public speaker and a natural teacher, Louize loves sharing her sailing passion with new students, introducing them to the sheer beauty of riding the wind.
